Ladies Night at the Legion is this Saturday, Oct. 20 – don’t miss it! The Calcutta is $1,000, the music is by Playback, the dinner is prime rib and the fun, games and prizes are non-stop. There are just a few tickets left at the Legion or Harbour Insurance.
Bucks for Books, the annual fundraiser for the Pender Harbour Reading Centre, is on now, October through November. Books, like most things, are getting more expensive and the PHRC always strives to have the latest releases as well as much loved classics. It is one of my favourite places to visit, warm, welcoming, great selection of books and DVDs, staffed with friendly, knowledgeable volunteers. Drop in. Donations gratefully received. Tax receipts issued for $20 and more. Membership is only $5. Located in the beautiful PH Cultural Centre by the School of Music.
