Bucks for Books, the annual fundraiser for the Pender Harbour Reading Centre, is on now, October through November. Books, like most things, are getting more expensive and the PHRC always strives to have the latest releases as well as much loved classics. It is one of my favourite places to visit, warm, welcoming, great selection of books and DVDs, staffed with friendly, knowledgeable volunteers. Drop in. Donations gratefully received. Tax receipts issued for $20 and more. Membership is only $5. Located in the beautiful PH Cultural Centre by the School of Music.

Come play Rummoli at Harbourside Friendship, Thursday Oct. 25, 10:30 a.m. at the PH Community Hall. Learn this great game and win prizes, too! Lunch is served at noon. Drop in $10.
