All aboard for the first Polar Express Christmas Light Tour of 2018 this Saturday, Dec. 8. Depart the Pender Harbour Community Hall at 5 p.m. for a tour through the dazzling light shows of Garden Bay. Tickets are $5 at John Henry’s, Harbour Insurance, and EarthFair. 

The Pender Harbour Community School is hosting a Baby Party! Pregnant families and families with babies are invited Dec. 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Strong Start room at Madeira Park Elementary School. Come meet other new parents and community members. Snacks will be served. 

Sunday, Dec. 9 Pender Harbour Choir presents Winter Song at the School of Music at 2 p.m. 

The Lions Club Christmas Dinner, Dec. 9, is a festive family affair in the true spirit of Christmas at the Community Hall, with kids’ activities at 3:30 p.m. followed by Santa and dinner at 5:30 p.m. 

An annual delight, always a hit, the Madeira Park Elementary School Christmas Concert is Wednesday, Dec. 12 starting at 6:30 p.m. Open to the public, come enjoy! 

Thursday, Dec. 13 Harbourside Friendship hosts their Christmas luncheon. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. at the Hall. 

Friday evening Egmont Christmas Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. at the Egmont Community Hall. 

The Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary In Lieu of Christmas Cards is a wonderful way to send out Christmas greetings, published in Coast Reporter. Send in your donation and information to the Sunshine Coast Auxiliary, PO Box 101, Madeira Park by Dec. 14. Contact Patti 604-883-9290 or Maureen 604-883-2563 for more information. Enormous thanks to all who contributed to the bake sale. It was a great success! 

The 64th Pender Harbour Carol Ship Parade sets sail Friday, Dec. 14 at 6 p.m. from the government dock at Millennium Park. The beautifully decorated boats will carry carollers and the Pipe Band broadcasting the favourite songs of this festive season. 

The Community Club Christmas Craft Fair is Saturday, Dec. 15. This is a fundraiser to maintain the PH Community Hall. What would we do without it? As Muriel Cameron is taking a well-deserved break from putting on this great event a call goes out for volunteers and donations for raffles, baskets and baking. Vendor tables are $25. Organizations and societies welcome. Call Carol to reserve 604-883-2272. 

Always a warm and wonderful place to shop, The Bargain Barn has a treasure trove of Christmas gifts and decorations. Shop until Dec. 22 and please bring your own bags and extra for the Barn.
