Halfmoon Happenings: Crissinger coming to HMB

You are invited to join the first Halfmoon Bay Family Book Club. Read the selected book at home as a family and then come for an evening of book-related fun. Activities vary according to the book read. The first meeting will be Wednesday, Nov.

You are invited to join the first Halfmoon Bay Family Book Club. Read the selected book at home as a family and then come for an evening of book-related fun. Activities vary according to the book read. The first meeting will be Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the school library. The first book is Wishtree by Katherine Applegate and is appropriate for Grade 2 and up. There are limited copies available to borrow in the community school library.

Halfmoon Bay Chatelech Community School Association Annual General Meeting will be held in the library at Halfmoon Bay Elementary on Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.

Canadian guitarist and songwriter Mark Crissinger will perform at Coopers Green Hall, Nov. 17. Join Crissinger and his band for an all ages blues dance party from 8 to 11 p.m. Crissinger has been performing in pubs, clubs, festivals and fairs since 1987. His band is known for their upbeat danceable show and always features an all-star cast.

Blending traditional themes with clever lyrics and modern arrangements, the band combines different styles to give their show plenty of variety. You will hear some boogie woogie, funk, rock, shuffle and swing. Dancing, singing, clapping, and laughing are all encouraged.

Tickets are at Halfmoon Bay General Store, Welcome Woods Market and Pastimes in Sechelt. Doors open at 7 p.m.
