Halfmoon Happenings

Halfmoon Bay

Sargeant Bay Society and Ruby Lake Lagoon Society will be presenting their annual Low Tide Beach Exploration at Sargeant Bay Provincial Park on Saturday July 14, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Naturalists will be on hand with displays, touch tanks, nets, buckets and more. Great fun and educational for kids and parents, as you learn about our beaches.

The Halfmoon Bay Country Fair dinner and dance on Saturday night at Coopers Green Park was a tremendous success with over 120 meals served.

Those who stayed for the dance were treated to an incredible night of dancing to Playback with their renditions of some choice songs from the Beach Boys to the Rolling Stones. Sorry if you missed it, as tickets sold out early.

Garry Nohr, who was congratulated for his 15 years of dedicated service, opened the 52nd annual Halfmoon Bay Country Fair on Saturday, July 8, which was extremely well attended with everyone, especially the young ones, having fun.

Thanks go out to the PAC at Halfmoon Bay School, Halfmoon Bay Community Association and volunteers that pulled everything together for an excellent event.

To have your say at the bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at teknight@telus.net or 604-885-5034.
