Calling all chefs! The Halfmoon Bay School PAC is getting ready for their Western-themed School Carnival on Thursday May 23, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. with proceeds going to the PAC. If you make a mean pot of chili, consider entering their Chili Challenge! You could be named Halfmoon Bay Chili Champion and have your name put on the Chili Cup! Carnival attendees will be voting along with a panel of HMB celebrity judges! Email Wendy for more information at wwhite@sd46.

Everyone is welcome to join in the fun at pickleball nights, for all skill levels, 5:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at Half-moon Bay Community School gym, sponsored by Halfmoon Bay Community Association. The Halfmoon Bay Country Fair planning has started. Any assistance would be appreciated, whether you would like to help on the day, July 14, or could organize vendors or advertising, we would love your support. You can earn one of our keepsake designer T-shirts: Halfmoon Bay Fair 2019. Contact halfmoonbayfair@gmail.com.

Celebrated music performer Shari Ulrich comes to the Coast May 25. Her work has garnered two Juno awards, several Juno nominations, an induction into the BC Entertainment Hall of Fame, and a 2014 CFMA for English Songwriter of the Year. Ulrich will be accompanied by her daughter Julia Graff, now 28, with a Masters in Sound Recording from McGill University – herself an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, a busy recording engineer, music editor in film and television, a producer, videographer and photographer. The third person of the trio is Cindy Fairbank, also an accomplished musician on piano, accordion and vocals.

Hosted by Halfmoon Bay Community Association, they perform at Coopers Green Hall, an evening to remember. Check if tickets are still available at Welcome Woods Market, Halfmoon Bay General Store and Pastimes in Sechelt.

To have your say at the Bay, contact me before 5 p.m. Monday at teknight@telus.net or 604-885-5034.
