Halfmoon Bay: Ruth Rodgers to read

The Halfmoon Bay Branch of the Sunshine Coast Healthcare Auxiliary will be meeting on Oct. 7 at Coopers Green Hall at 9:45 a.m., with guest Deb Chmelauskas speaking on Brain Health. New members and guests are most welcome. 

Local artist and writer Ruth Rodgers will launch her historical fiction novel, Those Who Wander, which is set in Halfmoon Bay at the turn of the last century, on Saturday, Oct. 5 in Coopers Green Community Hall, 7 p.m. All are welcome to this free reading and slide presentation of archival images of the novel’s era. Books will be available ($20 cash only). 

Halfmoon Bay Chatelech Community School Association will be holding their AGM in the library at Halfmoon Bay Community School, 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 28.

Please consider volunteering at Halfmoon Bay Community School’s Homework Club. Duties include preparing a healthy snack, welcoming kids after their day at school and helping with homework. The club provides a safe and happy place for kids to be after school, they get their homework done and have some fun too! They gather from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
