Long-time local favourite Jim Taylor, known for his rock and roll dances, shows another side of his musical talent with smooth voice and acoustic guitar.  Jim goes back to his roots with his huge repertoire, including folk, rock and ’60s and ’70s favourites.  Jim’s beautiful rendition of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah is not to be missed.  Hear him on Friday, Jan. 13 from 6 to 7:30 at the Roberts Creek Legion. Dinner is served from 5 to 9 p.m. There is no cover charge, but tips are appreciated.

Also at the Legion this Saturday, Jan. 14 there is a fundraiser for the Food Bank called the Peanut Butter Jam, with live music by Slightly Twisted and the Drew Camp Band. Members and guests with members are welcome at all Legion events.  If you aren’t a member, you can still attend and join on the spot!

Pickleball starts at the Roberts Creek School on Saturday, Jan. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon.  Enter via the gym doors on the northwest side of the gym – lots of parking right there.  There are three courts for various levels with instruction for beginners the first hour. Paddles are supplied. Drop-in fee is $4.

Water meters are being installed on all properties connected to the Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD) water system.  SCRD and Neptune Technology Group (the company that will be installing the water meters) invite you to attend an open house to learn more about the water meter installation process, Jan. 17 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Roberts Creek Hall.
