The new EarthFair Store opens this Saturday, Nov. 7 with a COVID-19-sensitive, outdoor celebration from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., 12902 Madeira Park Rd. Bring your mask for this soft opening and see what is happening with the Loon Foundation. There will be an outdoor (under the tent) art exhibit honouring the loon by local artists, Shelly Stunell’s students.

Bargain Barn Pop Up continues at the Legion with fantastic new merchandise each day. Open noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays, cash only. Donations of clean saleable items are accepted at the Pender Harbour Community Hall, Fridays 1 to 4 p.m.

We are the lucky ones to be able to safely enjoy live music twice each week here in the Harbour at the Clubhouse. This Sunday the extremely popular Eddy Edrik returns to entertain as you dine and drink, 2 to 5 p.m. Next Friday, Nov. 13, the dinner show features Apasionado, the much-loved duo Lori Carmichael and Randy Rayment, who will make your evening a memorable one. Reservations recommended.

On Remembrance Day, November 11, the Pender Harbour Legion will have a small, restricted ceremony at the cenotaph. Public are asked not to attend but to take part by going to the live stream on Facebook – URL www.facebook.com/groups/phara.ca – and to take a minute of silence at 11 a.m. to honour our veterans and first responders. Poppies are available at local businesses.

The second coming of COVID-19 has hit like a tidal wave in B.C. Now more than ever we must do all we can to keep ourselves and in turn our community safe. Contact me with your news at [email protected] for the Friday edition of the Coast Reporter.
