Cathie Roy

Cathie Roy started with the Coast Reporter in 1998 as a 12-hour a week accounts receivable clerk. Through the years she’s meandered up through sales and after a short leave of absence to get her journalism certificate from Langara College in 2003, Cathie has served the paper as associate publisher. She is fascinated by the myriad of people and causes on the Sunshine Coast and (mostly) loves writing about them. She’s also been known to have an opinion on anything and everything. Her interests are many. Most involve the written and/or spoken word. She is presently the president of the Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts, a member of two Toastmaster clubs, Beachcombers Toastmasters (she holds the position of vice-president public relations) and Morning Stars Toastmasters. Cathie has been a member of the Rotary Club of the Sunshine Coast – Sechelt since 2000. She’s also a member of the best book club on the Coast. She believes in her community and wants to make it a great place for everyone to live.
