Ya Yas shut out Blazers 4-0 last Sunday in continuing their fantastic season.

Rita Paulson scored twice, while Angela Muir and Alvina Paul scored singles. Last Wednesday night, Ya Yas beat Mayhem 3-0.

Ya Yas have only lost once in 21 games.

Also last Wednesday night, Blazers picked up a 6-1 win over Fusion as Jen Bridgeman registered a hat trick with singles from Christine Campbell, Nadine Slingerland and Astrid Bradbury. Melissa Rayford replied for Fusion.

In the other Sunday games, Banana Peppers tied Sitas 1-1 and Source tied Mayhem 2-2.

In the men's league, after a week of Wolves/Chiefs trash talking on worksites and bank line-ups around town, Ted Dixon Field was where the rubber cleat met the grassy road, as the battle of the Sechelt Indian Band teams was on!

The sunny Sunday seemed to have the entire Sechelt Nation out, and if youweren't on the sidelinein a lawn chair, you were probably on the pitch.

Scotty Johnson fired the opening volley on a long cross from Keith Johnson, followed by a couple of side mesh beauties from Calem Feschuk, with Matty Joe's 35-yard sidewinder missile seeming to seal the deal.

A second half ricocheting ripper from Rick Timothy and a header from Dan Muir silenced the Chiefs' sideline banter, but the whistle went before Wolves could do more damage in the Chiefs' 4-2 win.

Ridgepoint couldn't shake the Halfmoon Bay monkey off their back in a 3-1 loss, with keeper Trevor Cockfield laying down the law inside the "courthouse" and out, limiting Ridgepoint to a Mike Husband single, with Halfmoon Bay getting a pair from Tachi 'Valhalla' Vohalis, and a single from Colin Bradley.

In the other Sunday men's game, Pender Harbour tied Sitas 2-2.

A week prior, Ridgepoint held first place CPU to a tie, with scoring from - drum roll - Sean Whalen! Even though he only weighs a buck fifty soaking wet and stands at five foot nothing with his cleats on, you could almost feel the field tilt towards the Bruins when he stepped onto the pitch.

After a decade playing in the Vancouver Metro league and winning its scoring title at 41 while taking halftime smoke breaks, Whalen has finally returned to his Coastal homeland to spend histwilightyears terrorizing defenders and making goalies feel bad about themselves. Bruins player-coach Grant Marshall began describing Whalen's return as "a flower born to blush unseen, spending its sweetness on the desert air" before being pelted by empties.
