Vandals wreck concrete pour

The District of Sechelt is looking at an estimated bill of $10,000 in damages after vandals drove through freshly poured concrete at a job site in Sechelt on Jan. 17.

The District of Sechelt is looking at an estimated bill of $10,000 in damages after vandals drove through freshly poured concrete at a job site in Sechelt on Jan. 17.

Sunshine Coast RCMP received a report of mischief in the 5400 block of Trail Avenue in Sechelt early last Friday morning, after a suspect drove over freshly poured concrete.

"Witnesses reported seeing a white car doing burnouts on the pavement at approximately 9:30 p.m. the night previous, but did not call police at the time of the incident," said Cpl. Steve Chubey in a news release. "The District of Sechelt estimates the damage to be approximately $10,000."
