I do not approve of the District of Sechelt referendum because property owners who will benefit from the plant get to vote on the loan but do not have to pay for the facility under this bylaw until they hook up.
Owners now are payingfor properties still not connected in the existing specifiedsewage area. They will also be required to fund the future extension of services.
This is what I find particularly upsetting about this referendum.
District of Sechelt Bylaw 492-2012 has approved future expansion of the village, West Sechelt and West Porpoise Bay sewage collection area to upper Selma Park as well as extending toEast Porpoise Baythat would collect sewage from the new development Edgewater at Porpoise Bay, and beyond.
