Storm played its last regular season game in the sunshine last Sunday at Kinnikinnick Park in Sechelt against the West Vancouver Spuraways.

Storm was happy to be back on the pitch after several games were cancelled due to inclement weather.

Within minutes of the opening kick-off, the Spuraways caught Storm sleeping and scored a goal.

That was enough to "spur" Storm's defence into action and the rest of the first half was dominated by Storm. The offensive line was strong pushing through balls to speedy players for breakaway opportunities.

Storm was first to the ball time and time again, but every shot missed the mark or was stopped by strong goaltending.

In the second half the Spuraways scored on a referee miscommunication, which left Storm wondering what had happened.

A shutout was not in the cards for West Vancouver as Storm was finally able to hit the net in the final few minutes of the game.

With regular season play over the Storm is gearing up for their first big tournament in Burnaby next week.
