Earlier this month, several athletes from the Sunshine Coast embarked on a mission to the Fraser Valley to participate in a doubles tournament dubbed "Mission Madness."

When all was said and done, 10 medals went to seven local pickleball players: Lin Buckler (gold, silver), Karen Renfrew (gold, silver), Bonnie Gibbon (gold, bronze), D'Arcy Windblad (gold), Shelly Lawrence (silver), John Bell (silver) and Dave Cudlipp (bronze).

Pickleball is growing in popularity on the Sunshine Coast where more than 150 players enjoy this exciting hybrid of tennis, ping pong and badminton.

Organized pickleball is played at the Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre. Those interested in joining can contact Karen Renfrew at 604-885-4107 or karenorlin@gmail.com.
