Telling it like it is

Editor:

Thank you John Gleeson for your views on the situation in the Ukraine (Coast Reporter, column, April 11).

Thank you for telling it like it is. The Americans want to control the global oil and gas markets and supplies. They have proven this by their activities in the Middle East. Now they are looking at the European gas imports from the Ukraine.

Our government, instead of meekly backing them, should be warning the Americans about the dangers. Russia is not Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, or Libya. Russia is a powerful nation with the ability and the will to protect their national interests.

I worry that the Americans will be the cause of another world war.

Their hypocrisy, while laughable, is really not very funny.
