The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives in Gibsons is inviting residents to take a walk in the woods through a photo slideshow presentation next Saturday.
Local artist and hiker Byron Anderson will present an introduction to heritage sites and natural history from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1. Admission is by donation.
Take a photographic journey into the Chaster Creek watershedand seeremnants from the founding of theTown of Gibsons, plants, mushrooms, andviewpoints. Explore First Camp, a heritage site on Mount Elphinstone that was once the centre of logging operations and still contains historic artifacts.
Anderson's artistic photography and deep knowledge of the region will provide insight into the area's natural and cultural history. The slide show presentation starts will be followed by a discussion period.
