The U11 rep boys Sunshine Coast United went undefeated with a 2-0-1 record at a Remembrance Day tournament in West Vancouver.

United started the day with a 5-0 thrashing of the Cliff Avenue Eagles.

Seven minutes in, Alex Hart from centre sent one long, soaring above everyone’s heads to find the back of the net.

Dominating the second half, attacking the net at every chance, Brett Bjornson scored twice with Taiyo Blackwell and Sierra Ryden each adding singles.

Cameron Wentzell picked up the shutout in net.

United’s second game was a much stiffer test, resulting in a 2-2 against the North Vancouver Hawks.

Bringing their game to a whole new level, evenly matched and fast paced, the Hawks opened the scoring early. But this only made United hungrier and not backing down. With three great chances, Brett finally hammered one home, tying it up 1-1.

Starting the second half, both teams were determined to win. North Van answered with an early goal, going up 2-1. Not to be outdone, coming on even stronger, Taiyo with a quick pass to Brett scored once again to even the score.

Game three saw United play another strong game, ending in a 3-1 win over Cliff Avenue Storm.

Quick passing and impeccable teamwork brought United above and beyond.

First half highlights where from Alex with a rebound from Owen Watson, just missing the net, and another near miss from Julian Woodin. But it was Sierra who found the back of the net, making it a 1-0.

Starting the second half with a bang, Brett made it 2-0 off the kick-off.

United’s endurance and quick passing kept the pressure on. Their one fault was a small gap that allowed the Storm to sneak one in, making it 2-1 with three minutes remaining. But Brett iced the game a short while later.
