Get ready, roller derby fans, because the Sunshine Coast Roller Girls (SCRG) are ready to bring a hard-hitting, fast-paced dose of derby to the Sunshine Coast Arena in Sechelt next weekend.

The bout on Saturday, Sept. 15, will be against the Haney Hooligans in a rematch of August's hard-hitting, close game held in Maple Ridge. This team of fearless female athletes will offer more than your average sporting event, as roller derby is a full contact, aggressive, competitive sport conducted on four-wheeled skates and not for the faint of heart. It is great family fun and an awesome sport to watch live.

Get your tickets early as last year's bout sold out fast. Tickets are available at the Sechelt Visitors Information centre or on-line at www.brownpapertickets.com for $10 for adults, children six to 12 and seniors $5. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., first whistle at 6:30 p.m.

There will be live entertainment, door prizes, 50/50 draws, charity and food vendors and guaranteed bumps and bruises. The SCRG is looking to expand its roster; women of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to join in the September "fresh meat" intake. No experience is required and all skating levels are welcome. More information will be available at the bout.
