The Sunshine Coast Roller Girls home team Red Tide Warning is hosting its first home game next Saturday, July 19, at 5 p.m. at the Sunshine Coast Arena in Sechelt.

The team has played two fantastic away games so far this season against Squamish and Whistler. Red Tide Warning has been training hard and are looking for a win against Nanaimo’s Harbour City Rollers.

The game comes after two back-to-back scrimmages were held in Gibsons in June, against Vancouver’s Bad Reputations and Chilliwack’s New World Order. These were non-sanctioned games open to the public that created the opportunity for both teams to try out new strategies in advance of upcoming competitive play. The scrimmages also offered fans a free preview of the sport live.

There will be only two home games this season with the other one on Sept. 13. Both games will offer great live roller derby action for fans of the worlds fastest growing sport. Volunteers are always welcome!

Tickets are available at the Sechelt Visitor Information Centre and online at www.brownpapertickets.com.
