The Sunshine Coast Rapids Lacrosse Association teams are piling up the wins against their Lower Mainland competition.

Lacrosse teams from the Lower Mainland are finding out how tough the Sunshine Coast Rapids are — both at home and away.

Last weekend, Lower Mainland teams travelled to the Sunshine Coast with all three Rapids teams picking up huge wins at the Gibsons and Area Community Centre.

The peewee team won 18-0, the midget team won 14-3 and the bantam team defeated Delta 9-2. So far the bantams are undefeated and ranked number one in their division.

The last weekend in April saw the Rapids host a full day of action against Lower Mainland teams at the Sunshine Coast Arena in Sechelt.

The bantams beat White Rock 6-3 on the strength of a four-goal effort from Thane Huson and two goals from Braedon Service.

Harris Dixson and Jake Podgorenko were each credited with assists.

The peewee and midget teams also both picked up wins that weekend.

This now brings to an end the tiering part of the schedule for all three Rapids teams. Regular season games start this Sunday, May 11. The Rapids play at home every Sunday at the Gibsons and Area Community Centre starting at 9:30 a.m. with the novice team followed by the peewee team, bantam team and midget team.
