The Sunshine Coast Men's Fastball League playoffs are set for the weekend of Aug. 9/10 at Hackett Park in Sechelt.

The final league games for the Sunshine Coast Men’s Fastball League will be in the books next week with the playoff weekend set for Aug. 9/10 at Hackett Park in Sechelt.

Last week’s action saw the Jays and Brewers battle to a 4-4 tie on Friday, July 25.

Steve Partridge was brilliant on the mound for the Jays holding off the Brewers strong bats until the bottom of the seventh when Brad Kohuch hit a solo home run to tie the game.

Big Deals picked up a 17-5 win over Gilligans.

The Big Deals started off the night with a rare triple play by Patrick King-Webber, who then followed up this defensive feat with a home run.

Custom edged Lon’s Gun Show 6-5 in the final game Friday night.

Greg Stinson started off the scoring for Custom Carpet with a triple in what looked to be the start of a high scoring game, but after the third inning both teams tightened up and Brendan Mayers settled in on the mound for Custom and kept their one-run lead intact.

On Monday night, the Gun Show got back in the win column with a 3-1 win over first-place Brewers.

The Brewers scored first after Therin Hemstalk hit a triple positioning himself to score, but Lon’s Gun Show battled back taking the lead scoring two runs in the fourth and then adding an insurance run in the fifth.

Jody Underwood was solid at third base for the Gun Show making a barehanded grab to throw out a runner at first.
