The Elphinstone senior boys basketball team rose to the challenge on Wednesday, Oct. 29, hosting the Harlem Crowns in an entertaining exhibition game.

Led by manager Herb Scaife, the Crowns were hilarious and put referees Bob Hoy and Nat Haglund through the ringer, but, of course, both were excellent sports.

Cougars player Matt Whittall had one of the highlights of the night — a breakaway dunk.

Though it was in the thick of busy Halloween week and numbers weren’t as high as in the past, the crowd was totally into it and carried a great energy.

The ticket sales brought in just over $2,000 and fun was had by all.
