Valhalla Strength and Conditioning Gym members had a recent run of success at several off-Coast competitions.

Dan Symonds ran in the North Face Dirty Feet Mountain 50 km run at Sun Peaks Resort where he placed third overall in a time of six hours seven minutes.

His next journey will take him to the World's Toughest Mudder in New Jersey in November.

Four other members competed in an all-women's strength and fitness challenge, Femsport, building on the success of their first Femsport competition in the summer.

Events included: box jumps (side-by-side jumping, 18 inches, 50 times, as fast as possible), the kettlebell lift (which includes weights from 44 to 70.4 pounds being put on pedestals for time), the tire pull/drag (approximate weight 120 pounds), running backwards 80 feet for time, the tire flip (includes flipping the 280 pound tire three times one way and three times back for time) and the obstacle course, which had various obstacles and challenges to complete for time while testing endurance and strength.

Aspen Wing, Marni Beggs and Carolyn Spence competed in the open division for returning athletes as a team, placing seventh overall.

Individually Wing placed second in both the tire flip and tire drag, and Beggs placed fourth in the kettlebell lift.

Michelle Kwasney competed in the novice division for first-time athletes and placedsecond in both the kettlebell lift and tire drag, and third in tire flip, coming in third overall andbringing home a medal.

These individuals owe their utmost thanks to their coach Curtis Munson (owner of Valhalla) for all his hard work in training them and helping them through their journey to compete in these events.

Who knows what's in store for the women; however, they continue to train with Munson and his Valhalla family.
