The Gibsons peewee all-star team had a busy week, closing out the regular season. On Monday, July 25, the Dodgers travelled to Cloverdale for a date against the Spurs.

In a low-scoring game, the Dodgers' pitchers and defence held the Spurs to two runs, while the offence battled through some tough Cloverdale pitching to come away with a 7-2 win.

On Wednesday, July 27, Gibsons hosted the Coquitlam-Moody Reds.

In front of another terrific crowd at Brothers Park, the Dodgers jumped all over some early Reds' errors and took a five-run lead in the first inning.

After a scoreless second, the Dodgers took command by scoring runs in each of the next four innings to pull away in a 13-5 win.

With an 8-0 record and a possible undefeated regular season on the line, the Dodgers travelled to Ridge Meadows to play the Royals in their final game of the season.

In a seesaw, high-scoring start to the game, the Dodgers found themselves trailing the Royals 8-7 after five innings. Over the final two innings, Gibsons really showed their great character, combining terrific pitching, solid defence and an explosive offence to take over the game and secure a well-earned 16-8 win.

As a result of winning all three games, Gibsons won the Lower Main-land division with a perfect 9-0 record and will be one of the top seeds at the Provincial Peewee A Championship to be held at Kensington Park in Burnaby Aug. 4 to 7.
