The Chatelech and Elphinstone secondary school golf teams are tied for second place with identical 3-1 records in the AA North Shore standings.

Both teams opened league play on April 4, squaring off at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club, where Elphi came away with a 7-0 win.

Chatelech then picked up a 7-0 win over Seycove at Gleneagles on April 8, a 3-0 win over Mulgrave at Northlands on April 16 and a 3-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas at the Capilano Golf and Country Club on April 22.

Chatelech plays its last regular season match against Collingwood on Monday, May 5, at the Sechelt Golf Club.

Following its win over Chatelech, Elphinstone beat St. Thomas Aquinas 6-1 on April 7 at the Sechelt Golf Club, beat Seycove 7-0 at Capilano on April 17 and lost 6.5-0.5 to Collingwood on April 24 at Seymour.

Elphinstone played their last league match at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club on Wednesday against Mulgrave.

In other junior golf events, Halfmoon Bay’s Avery Struck had another strong showing at the latest Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour event.

Playing at the KIKKOR Classic at Northview Golf and Country Club in Surrey April 5 and 6, Avery finished 13th in the girls division with rounds of 87 and 79.

The next tour event is May 17 and 18 in Langley.
