The 42nd annual Sunshine Coast Amateur was held at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club last weekend.

In the women’s division, Avery Struck dominated the field with scores of 76-78 to win by an impressive 22 strokes. Penny Ulmer played to a net 66 on Sunday to capture the women’s net title.

The senior men’s division required playoffs for both the gross and the net.

Bill Sneddon edged Tom Rippon on the fourth playoff hole to win the senior men’s title, while Rob Scarr birdied the first hole to defeat Jamie Stallwood to win the net title.

In the men’s contest, Jacob Bland overcame his nerves and a one-stoke deficit with just three holes to play to win by a single stroke over Mike McAleer. Kevin Land of Marine Drive won the net title. Thanks to the players, volunteers and the staff who helped make this a great event again this year.
