For the first time in Sunshine Coast Minor Hockey Association history, the Bantam C Blues captured the Lions Gate divisional banner.

The team placed high in the balancing round, putting it in the top tier of league play.

Throughout league play, they maintained higher than average goals for with an impressive 104 goals in 18 games. Every player did an awe-inspiring job not only putting the puck in the opponents' net, but a stellar defence kept the puck out of their net.

With a full roster of 17 players and two goalies, teamwork had to be the key. There is no room for one man shows with this big a team and every one of them pulled it off. This is a great accomplishment for a dedicated group of young men.

On Sunday, Feb. 9, the team was honoured with the presentation of the banner by Lions Gate managing director Geordie Elson.

Congratulations to all the players, coaches and parents as well a big thank you to the executive members of the association for the support and recognition.
