Wannamaker’s team of Dwayne Clegg, Cameron Johnston and Ali Kahn was one of seven local teams who took to the ice for the three-day event. There were 24 teams total with nine teams from Royal City.

Play started Friday night with games all day Saturday and the finals on Sunday.

Third place in the A-event went to another Gibsons team skipped by Larry Koopman, with Ken Shultz at third, Howie Larsen at second and lead Gary Sigler. The fourth place team in the A-event was skipped by Gibsons’ Glenn Campbell.

The B-event saw a first and second place finish by a pair of Meat Brothers teams from Royal City, with the Rempel rink from Royal City in third.

In the C-event, Tony Todosychuk and his team of Ed Hill, Jay Dear and Ken Brown from Gibsons finished first with the McKinley rink from Coquitlam in second and the Carmichael rink from the Marpole Curling Club in third. The fourth place team was the Keith Clegg rink from Gibsons made up of all first-year curlers.

All players enjoyed fine hospitality from the club volunteers throughout the weekend and great ice from icemaker Peter Beyon.
