The Sheriff family from Gibsons has found a way to keep their boys in line with the exciting world of motorbike racing with the Pacific Coast Mini Road-racing Club (PCMRC).

Brandon Sheriff, aged 13, has been doing well this season holding third position in under 21 and first position in intermediate.

Brandon rode in the Grom Prix class for the last four races and is in seventh position. Brandon was sponsored by Honda Centre Burnaby for a Honda 125cc for Grom Prix.

Ryan Sheriff, aged 10, was also entered into intermediate and under 21; he has been riding a Kayo 125cc.

Ryan started off a little nervous of the bike but each race he has become more and more confident. Ryan now holds fourth position in under 21 and third position in intermediate.

Jack Sheriff, aged 8, was entered into youth; he has been riding a KTM 50cc. Jack started off like a rocket and has not stopped since, only when his bike blew up last race.

Up until then he had been doing exceptionally well. He is holding second place, but at the moment he is in a frantic rush to get his bike back together for the Sept. 11 race.

PCMRC is the Lower Mainland’s mini-road racing community. The club was first created at a time when Yamaha was offering street legal 50cc and 80cc motorcycles that could be modified for racing purposes.

The race season runs from March to October and races take place rain or shine. On average there are seven points races each season.

Next year the Sheriff family aims to participate in the Nationals as well as the club races, taking them through B.C. to Saskatchewan and Calgary.
