Beres Clements will perform in the ice show Elvis Rocks the Coast March 11 at Gibsons and Area Community Centre with guest skater Elvis Stojko.

A 15-year-old Gibsons skater will compete in The Hague, Netherlands this month – his first international assignment after placing in the National Championships in Ottawa in January.

Beres Clements placed third in novice men in the short program and fifth overall at the 2017 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships, held at Ottawa’s TD Place Arena Jan. 16 to 22.

Beres began his skating career with the Sunshine Coast Skating Club (SCSC) in Gibsons. Professional coach Lesleigh Farr talent ID’d him in the Canskate program recommending he join the figure skating program. Beres moved up quickly from the ranks in Starskate and into the competitive skate stream.

He is now training in Burnaby at Champs International with award-winning World/Olympic coach Joanne McLeod.

Beres will perform in the SCSC ice show Elvis Rocks the Coast March 11 at Gibsons and Area Community Centre along with guest skaters Elvis Stojko (three-time world champion, two-time Olympic silver medalist, seven-time Canadian champion) and Gladys Orozco, Mexican champion, world and international competitor.
