Chatelech brings home banner, off to provincials

Ski and snowboard team

The Chatelech Secondary School boys snowboard team won the North Shore championship banner after racing in the experienced ski and snowboard North Shore Athletic Association finals in Whistler Feb. 12.

Chatelech won four of the top five seats with Quinn White in second place, Callum Rive in third, Levi Pearl in fourth and Jasper Deasey placing fifth. Pearl Deasey was also awarded a ribbon for her fifth place win.

With these results the snowboarding team secured a spot at the provincial championships in early March in Revelstoke.

The girls and the boys ski teams also raced well throughout the season and deserve to be recognized for both their racing skills and for their positive attitudes.

“We are so proud of each and every racer on the Chatelech ski and snowboard team,” said coaches Kirsten and Rob Deasey. “We raced for long hours, often in extreme conditions. Their commitment and team spirit was truly outstanding."
