Bantam C to play for banner

Minor Hockey

The Bantam C Blues will play for the Lions Gate League playoff banner for the second year in a row.

With a record of 8-3-1, they managed to secure 27 points, finishing the playoff round in second place to North Van C2, who are currently 11-0-0 with one game left to play. The final game time and place has not yet been announced, but will be hosted by North Vancouver Minor Hockey.

This year’s team is largely made up of younger players with only seven on the roster moving up to midget next year, but they have worked hard and developed into a team that is very hard to beat.

After finishing league play in fourth place, the playoff run was very competitive with three teams vying for the berth in the playoff final, but last Sunday’s 4-2 win over Hollyburn put the Blues into second place.

Jack Campbell led the way with a pair of goals with singles from Brenden Jamieson and David Hardwick.

As has been the case all season, goalie Seth Joe was the anchor, providing solid goal-tending in the win.
