The Midget Rep 'A' Blues finished up the placement round last weekend with a 4-2-2 record.

The Blues travelled to Hollyburn Country Club last Tuesday night to play the first place Huskies. The Blues jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Huskies fought back to lead 3-2 two after two periods.

Despite playing short-handed for much of the second period, great goal-tending from Cam McLean allowed the Blues to stay close.

Theron Hemstalk with his second of the night tied the game late in the third and the game ended in a tie.

Last weekend saw the boys host a couple of teams from the Lower Mainland. Saturday's opponent, Surrey, was riding a three-game winning streak, but was no match for the Blues. Playing their most complete game so far this season, the Blues dominated and only a stellar effort by two Surrey goalies kept this game from being a blowout. Coast TV filmed the 4-0 win, so be sure to check out upcoming viewing times. Kyle Bergh, Gavin Strom, Austin Clark and Lakota Joe scored the goals.

Sunday saw a rematch against Abbotsford. The Blues started fast again, jumping out 2-0 on goals by Kyle and Robbie Casey, but bad habits sent the Blues to the penalty box and allowed Abbotsford back into the game.

The Blues started to play better in the third and were unlucky not to build a lead after several hit goal posts. A late four-minute penalty allowed Abbotsford to score the go-ahead goal, and despite a late flurry, the Blues couldn't equalize.

Despite the loss, the Blues secured the all important sportsmanship point in seven of their eight games. The Blues now head into the regular season, hoping to build on the momentum of a stellar placement series.
