Given The George moves forward, tourism operators new and old will be able to reach for new opportunities as professional tour companies serving Vancouver to Whistler and the rest of British Columbia have style and capacity requirements that are currently not met on the Sunshine Coast (read: billions driving by us).

As well, resort developers are loathe to open up new areas and are more comfortable following two or three other operators into an area that help raise profile and share in advertising and awareness dollars. The George will crack that investment resistance and we will see a more substantial tourism industry emerge and you can bet that industry opportunities and positive market spin offs won't be limited to The George itself.

Some may say that a letter to the editor from a real estate agent is self-serving when I support the George for its economics and improved consumer confidence towards our market. You would be correct and there lies my point.
