We moved to the Coast eight years ago and have since made lots of good friends.

2013 was not our best year. I endured a total of six operations in the past 14 months, during which time we were astounded and gratified by the outpourings of good wishes from caring family, friends and acquaintances to help us through the various challenges with which we were, and still are faced.

From neighbours and friends from the SunCoast Racquet Club, the Natural History Society, the SunCoast Garden Club), the Botanical Garden Society), the Drop-Dead Gorgeous Polewalkers, our book club and ladies tennis group, the psychological support for both myself and my wife has been amazing.

For all of you who have sent their kind and caring best wishes, we send our deeply heartfelt thanks.

We are well aware that many of you, going through the same ageing process and the challenges this presents, have experienced or are experiencing similar situations and, for those who have not yet done so, too, we send our grateful thanks, together with our reciprocal, caring wishes for better days to come.

To belong to such a caring and supportive community is a real blessing!
