It's happened again. Less than two months have passed since Vancouver Sun columnist Daphne Bramham's last castigation of Sechelt - and she's lashing out again.

It begs the question: why? We wrote a letter, which we intended for publication to her paper, questioning her on the content of her previous article, and the editor refused to print it. Determined, we persevered, engaging them in extensive and defensive email dialogue, but they still refused. Why are they only presenting one distorted view? Hardly an example of quality journalism.

Bramham seems to have a personal vendetta against our community. What are her sources? Are they my neighbours, your neighbours? We should all be concerned by this negative spin.

Perhaps she should focus her negative energies on something closer to her home - like how the recent budget cuts at Capilano University will affect faculty and students. Oops, I almost forgot, they just gave her an honourary doctorate, so best not drag them through the mud!

Wake up, Sechelt. This woman and her sources are not just attacking mayor and council, they're attacking and trying to divide our community. It's time we speak out and defend our hometown before irreparable damage is done.
