What is all the fuss about?

The following letter was sent to Gibsons council and copied to Coast Reporter. As a resident of Gibsons since 1981, we came in the spring and had never been here before, but decided we could live here and commute to Vancouver for work.

As a resident of Gibsons since 1981, we came in the spring and had never been here before, but decided we could live here and commute to Vancouver for work.

When moving here, we were surprised that there was no hotel here or in Sechelt.

Coming from the prairies where every town over 250 people had a hotel, pub and restaurant, we found this odd. Standing in front of what was then called Ken’s Lucky Dollar Store, we looked over at the bay and stated that would be a great location for a hotel.

Now here we are some 30 years later and now the dilemma of The George!

Working as a hairstylist, I decided back in October of 2013 to see what people felt, so after almost a year, I have discussed with over 150 customers of mine and in talks with customers, from the women I work with, about another 80 customers, I found it odd that after talking to over 230 people, there were seven customers who did not like the idea of a hotel. The rest were strongly in favour.

I personally cannot understand how anybody can be negative to such a positive.
