Soames steps appreciated

I would like to thank the craftsmen who rebuilt the 300 steps up the steep south side of Soames Hill. They have done a fantastic job. The steps are all level in both directions, which is a major achievement on such rugged terrain. In addition, the fill in the tread is acceptably smooth so the chance of twisting an ankle is virtually zero. The hand rails are great and provide a good feeling of security at various steep portions.

Thank you also to the forward thinking people who financed the project. It would be nice if a plaque with the names of the people who were involved was installed at the top or bottom of the steps.

I have been to the top of Soames Hill about 30 times now and am impressed by the number of people climbing up for exercise or to just admire the fantastic view regardless of the weather.
