I understand anything goes when you’re on the campaign trail, but Barry Janyk’s letter of June 13 warrants a remark or two before we anoint Barry as the “Patron Saint of the Flowing Water.”
The “best water” label is simply a PR gimmick. All we did was turn the tap, fill some bottles and send them in to some organization in the U.S. along with a fee. I believe around two dozen municipalities enter with a different winner each year.
If anybody deserves credit for our good water, it is Mother Nature and the Town crew who maintain the distribution system.
In a more serious vein, to infer that the recent problem was caused by the tactics of a few unnamed individuals with no proof is simply misleading and irresponsible.
