Pitiful argument

Letters

Editor:

Bill Forst (“Unfair to NDP,” Letters, March 24) complains that Michael Maser was “unfair” to point out that the NDP still takes big money to fund its campaigns. Forst claims that even though banning such contributions has been one of his party’s central campaign messages, they’re prevented from actually doing so by the need to counter the Liberal government’s evil ways. (He hit me first, Mom!)

What a pitiful argument for not putting their money where their mouth is!

He then claims the NDP is our only hope for putting that “wild west” scenario to an end. Why on earth would we believe they’d change if elected? Think only of Trudeau reneging on his promise of electoral reform.

The old politics is a dead horse. The buck stops with the BC Green Party, which operates true to its principle of refusing donations from corporations and labour unions. Please keep this at the front of your minds on voting day, May 9. And please excuse all my clichés, which I argue were put to excellent use here!
