As an outsider looking at the upcoming 2014 Sechelt municipal election, I’ve come to the conclusion it should be very interesting!

There’s a lot at stake for the electorate. This is going to be a four-year term, and on Nov. 15 our newly elected officials will have the opportunity to turn their tenure into some incredibly positive results. Or on the other hand, they can do some serious damage, and we’re stuck with the results.

As Sechelt voters, are you happy with the current council and those who may choose to run for another term? Or what about the candidates who have taken a back seat for a few years and want back into the local political scene? How did they perform when last elected?

Take a good look at where Sechelt is heading and how it’s being accomplished. Do you like it? Would others have done it differently?

With almost two months, there’s lots of time to question candidates on past performance, lack of performance, their current plans and future vision for Sechelt.

Remember to exercise your right: vote on Nov. 15 and let’s hope those we elect don’t let us down.
