Ferry system not that bad

Editor: I agree with John Peat’s comments (Coast Reporter, Aug. 22) in regards to the ferry system. It does not deserve all the criticism it receives. This summer I have made some quick trips to the Interior and the ferries were no problem at all.

This summer I have made some quick trips to the Interior and the ferries were no problem at all. The Trans Canada Highway from Chilliwack to North Van was quite another story.

At least waiting for the ferry you can get out and stretch your legs, talk to people or go visit the horses waiting to load. Not so with freeway delays.

I also make trips to the docks at Porpoise Bay to pick up and drop off a family member. I noticed the float planes are never filled to capacity and I wonder if all the talk of needing to expand the airport is warranted, too.
