I have no vested interest in Gibsons. I am not a business owner, nor do I own property in the Town of Gibsons. Yet, being a resident and property owner in Area F means Gibsons is my town and my community.
While I understand that opinions will differ widely on many issues, what has been going on in Lower Gibsons (since 2008) is potentially detrimental for everyone in the area, including our tourist base.
The innuendos, veiled threats, fear mongering and catastrophizing initiated by a small group acting under the veil of an organization called the Gibsons Alliance for Business and Community is unfortunate for all of us. It no more represents business interests in the Town of Gibsons than I do.
More recently, we have been waiting patiently for required reports to be presented from the Town regarding the George Hotel project, including aquifer, engineering and economic benefit reports. Until these come forward, please, can we do without the constant fear-mongering propaganda and PR balloon stunts from this group, trying to create misinformation and mistrust among residents?
