In an effort to improve asset reliability and customer service going forward, BC Ferries has carried out a variety of improvement projects at Horseshoe Bay and Langdale terminals over the past five months. Unfortunately, the cumulative effect of these improvement projects has led to a significant decline in our on-time performance over the short-term.

We want to apologize and acknowledge the inconvenience that has been experienced by our customers during this time.

The work conducted at Langdale and Horseshoe Bay terminals included a variety of projects, with the effects ranging from temporary berth closures to restricted loading procedures. These projects included inspection and upgrades of berths one and three at Horseshoe Bay, maintenance of the shore connection of berth one at Langdale, construction of a compactor at Langdale, and resurfacing of the upper transfer deck at Horseshoe Bay.

Each project had specific goals, but the combined intent was to address necessary maintenance of complex and aging assets in order to be fully prepared to provide safe and reliable service during the summer travel season and beyond.

Once again, we would like to apologize to our valued customers for this disruption. We look forward to the return of reliable service during this upcoming busy summer period. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
