Powell River RCMP is requesting the public's assistance to help locate a missing Powell River resident. Shawn Ian Gentry was last seen on Sunday, June 29 at 2 p.m. as he left on foot from a family member's residence near Eagle River, Stillwater area.

Powell River RCMP is requesting the public's assistance to help locate a missing Powell River resident.

Shawn Ian Gentry was last seen on Sunday, June 29 at 2 p.m. as he left on foot from a family member's residence near Eagle River, Stillwater area.

“Powell River search and rescue have been conducting an extensive ground search in the area since he was reported missing to police on Monday, June 30 at 9 p.m.,” said a news release from Powell River RCMP. “The search continued throughout the night until 4 a.m. on July 1. After a brief rest period, the search resumed at 8 a.m. with a search and rescue team arriving from Vancouver Island. Police air services and police dog service also attended immediately to assist with the ground and air search.”

Gentry is described as a Caucasian male, 45 years old, six feet tall, 180 pounds, dark hair, dark facial hair, was last seen wearing a dark coloured long sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
