A kayaker was quick to help a canoeist in trouble in the waters of Davis Bay on Sunday evening.
According to Sunshine Coast RCMP, they were alerted to the incident around 6 p.m. on June 22.
“The canoeist had rowed out to retrieve his crab trap when his canoe began taking on water causing it to flip over,” said Sgt. Steve Chubey in a news release. “The canoeist was unable to right the canoe and required assistance. A kayaker responded by rowing out to the canoeist and towing him and his canoe back to shore.”
The 67-year old-canoeist, a resident of Sechelt, was not injured.
