A 26-year-old Gibsons male passed away in a single-vehicle collision near Roberts Creek Road, Jan. 19.

Shortly after midnight emergency crews, including ambulance and the Roberts Creek fire department, responded to the accident on the Sunshine Coast Highway Thursday morning.

According to Sunshine Coast RCMP, a red 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier was travelling southbound on the highway and appeared to have lost control, hitting a tree and utility pole along the driver's side of the vehicle.
