Wind warning in effect for Sunshine Coast

WEATHER

Residents on the Sunshine Coast are being asked to prepare for another strong wind and rain storm that will be hitting the Coast early on Monday night.

In a weather advisory from Environment Canada, strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring. Southeast winds are expected to reach speeds of up to 70 km/h tonight (Monday) mainly over exposed coastal areas north of Nanaimo and Sechelt. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.

Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
