Gibsons Elementary School started their school year off with “top marks.” This year’s group of Grade 6 students participated in the Canadian National math contest called the “Fibonacci” last May, and collectively averaged the highest scores of all the participating schools in B.C. This prestigious award arrived on June 24, after the students had left for summer break. To ensure that they knew how well they had done, it was a great surprise to present them with this plaque at the first school assembly of the 2016-17 school year.
