The Memorial Golf Tournament dinner and silent auction at the Sunshine Coast Golf and Country Club was held in support of CanaDares. The event raised $15,000 for the abandoned street children of Dar-Es-Salaam.
Guest host Sheryl Mackay spoke to the crowd of over 75 about her appreciation for founder Lynda Kearns’ work, and the generosity of community businesses and local donors, whose efforts feed and clothe the African orphans.
Board member Val Marus underlined the importance of the Sunshine Coast’s embrace of CanaDares, saying that many of the attendees complimented her on the day’s program and its goals. Former supporter John Nicholls was remembered for his energetic efforts for CanaDares.
